The following Message from the House of Assembly was received and read:

                 MR. PRESIDENT - The House of Assembly has passed the Bill transmitted herewith, entitled an Act to provide for the administration of hospitals and other health services; to establish the Health Performance Council and Health Advisory Councils; to establish systems to support the provision of high-quality health outcomes; to provide licensing systems for ambulance services and private hospitals; to make related amendments to other Acts; to repeal the Ambulance Services Act 1992, the Hospitals Act 1934 and the South Australian Health Commission Act 1976; and for other purposes, to which it desires the concurrence of the Legislative Council.

The Clerk announced that the following Petitions had been lodged for presentation:

                 By the Hon. S. M. Kanck from 124 residents of South Australia, concerning plans to drain Lake Bonney and build a weir at Wellington.  The Petitioners pray that this Honourable House will do all in its power to obtain water for urban and agricultural purposes that do not destruct the natural operations of the River Murray system.

                 The Hon. S. G. Wade moved on page 9, lines 5 and 6, to leave out “a service fee of the amount prescribed by the regulations” and insert “the specified service fee (being an amount prescribed by the regulations)”.
