A Messenger from the Governor having been announced by Black Rod, the following Message was received and read: Message No. 4. The Governor informs the Legislative Council that, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, the following Acts have been assented to during the Third Session of the 51st Parliament, viz.: No. 47 of 2008 - An Act to amend the Authorised Betting Operations Act 2000 and the Lottery and Gaming Act 1936. No. 48 of 2008 - An Act to amend the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 and the Casino Act 1997. No. 49 of 2008 - An Act to amend the Sale of Goods Act 1895 and the Warehouse Liens Act 1990. No. 50 of 2008 - An Act to protect the health and safety of the public by providing for the registration and enrolment of nurses, midwives and students; to regulate the provision of nursing and midwifery care for the purpose of maintaining high standards of competence and conduct by nurses, midwives, students and services providers; to repeal the Nurses Act 1999; and for other purposes.
