(1) The functions of the Statutory Officers Committee are (a) to inquire into, consider and report (i) on a suitable person for appointment to an office under an Act vacancies in which are to be filled by appointment on the recommendation of both Houses; and (ii) on other matters relating to the performance of the functions of that office; and (iii) on any other matter referred to the Committee by the Minister responsible for the administration of any such Act; and (b) to perform other functions assigned to the Committee under this or any other Act or by resolution of both Houses. (2) Matters disclosed to or considered by the Committee for the purposes of determining a suitable person for appointment to a statutory office must not be made the subject of public disclosure or comment. (3) In considering matters relating to the performance of functions of a statutory office, the Committee must not engage in a review of any particular decision of a person occupying the office.
