Goyder Waste Management Strategy
Council agreed in principal for staff to proceed with a Goyder Waste Management Strategy based on
the following arrangements:
♦ The options and costings of the establishment of a fortnightly co-mingled recycle service within
the region
♦ The maintenance of a weekly landfill waste collection service within the region
♦ Subject to final feasibility and costings establish an engineered and managed landfill site at
Burra for Council use and adjoining Council/s
♦ Continue dialogue with adjoining Council/s for the use of the landfill site, and reach an in-
principal agreement for their use of the site
The strategy will continue to evolve as it reflects the rapidly changing requirements for the collection,
disposal and management of waste as decreed by the State Government.
