On Friday 16 February 2024, of its own motion, the Crime and Public Integrity Policy Committee (the ‘Committee’) resolved to inquire into and report on the matters set out in the Terms of Reference below.

Terms of Reference

The Committee is to inquire into and consider the performance of functions and exercise of powers by the Ombudsman under the Ombudsman Act 1972 or any other Act.

The Committee may further inquire into and consider any other relevant matter as the Committee sees fit, however the Committee is not authorised to:

  • investigate a matter relating to particular conduct; or 
  • reconsider a decision of any person or body in relation to a particular matter.

Submissions

Any person or organisation wishing to make a written submission or register an interest in presenting oral evidence to the Committee is invited to do so by COB Friday, 22 March 2024.  Written submissions and expressions of interest should be addressed to:
