The Parliamentary Committee on Occupational Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation is calling for submissions to its Inquiry into Empowering Work Health and Safety Representatives.

 

The Committee will inquire into and report on:

(a) whether the role of Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Health and Safety Committees (HSCs) under the Act is currently effective and operating as intended;
(b) whether there are appropriate measures to ensure sufficient numbers of HSRs and HSCs in South Australian Workplaces;
(c) whether current measures to protect workers from discrimination for participating as HSRs or members of HSCs are effective; and
(d) any necessary improvements to current processes and legislative provisions relating to HSRs and HSCs.

Any person or organisation wishing to make a submission or appear before the Committee is invited to do so by COB 16 May 2025
